Retro "Lady Chopped in Twain"

This automaton was created specially for FANTASMA MAGIC, a shop for magicians and collectors based in New York City.

It is a new version of Lady Chopped in Twain, executed in a "retro" style. Antique porcelain doll heads, produced in France or Germany over a hundred years ago, were used for the characters.

The box plinth dimensions are only 12", while the height of the figurines varies from 5" to 7".

The automaton is decorated in a classical style, with the use of traditional materials.

The magician turns his head, raises and lowers his sword. The assistant bows, turns onto her side horizontally and comes back up. The door of the box opens and closes. In total, there are five movements, not including the music mechanism.
