Lady Saw'd in Twain

This automaton enacts the famous 19th and early 20th-century magic trick: the sawing-in-half of the magician's lady assistant. The scene has six separate movements, not counting music.

The music is made by a hand-cranked 20-pipe street organ with a perforated paper roll. Turning the crank activates both the dolls and the music. The organ pipes are inside the display box, and produce a loud and impressive sound.
