Levitation
This mechanical doll was made according to the classic automata motif of the 18-19th centuries. It depicts a scene with a magician and his helper, who demonstrate a levitating trick. As the helper is lifted into the air, the magician moves a hoop to show that nothing is holding the helper up. When the trick is done, the helper is once again lowered down.
